About the project

BHSoft is helping a Japanese manufacturing solutions firm to build an SNS data analysis system for forecasting natural disasters based on Twitter data. The project involves building a dashboard display for monitoring and evaluating natural disaster information using a geospatial data information system.

The client is a Japanese firm that provides manufacturing solutions to the manufacturing industry. In particular, they develop various automatic design systems based on CAD, developing structural analysis and integration systems for construction/ civil engineering fields, providing environmental evaluation simulation as well as GIS asset management solutions.
This client has been a loyal customer of BHSoft for a certain period of time and they plan to continue to cooperate with BHSoft.
In this project, BHSoft helps the client to build an SNS (Social Network Service) data analysis system to forecast, prepare and forewarn possible occurrences of natural disasters based on data provided by social media channels. In this case, Twitter is the selected social media channel.

Twitter data is too big and overloaded so the system is slowed down in the beginning. But BHSoft has many years of experience working with GIS, we figured out the solution immediately. We utilized big data analysis to optimize Twitter data so the whole project went smoother and the system runs seamlessly.

BHSoft has years of experience working with the Geographical Information System (GIS). This time we build a geospatial data information system for the purpose of monitoring and evaluating the information on natural disasters. This information will be shown on the dashboard screen.
The system monitors predefined keywords and then lists all essential statistics on the dashboard. The keywords are the name of natural disasters which are tweeted, along with all related information.
Features of the app:
- Dashboard Screen: Displays keyword ranking, keyword chart, and map with detailed information about tweeted keywords such as time, location, and content.
- Tweet Search Screen: Allows users to search and monitor disaster-related keywords, exclude unwanted keywords, and choose a preferred language. Results include detailed information about tweets, and users can export data in CSV format.
- Statistic Screen: Displays keyword ranking and percentage of recorded instances, and provides options to list output, create graphs, and export data in CSV format.
- Keyword Management Screen: Admin-only function for managing monitoring keywords, including creating, editing, and removing keywords and their thresholds, and selecting which keywords are displayed in the history chart.
- Keyword Exclusion Screen: Admin-only function for managing exclusion keywords, including creating, editing, and removing keywords.
- User Management Screen: Admin-only function for managing standard users, including creating, editing, and removing users.
