In May 2026, BHSoft officially became an Odoo Partner, marking an important milestone in our journey to deliver Odoo-based business management solutions.
Just a few months later, we reached another important milestone:
BHSoft officially kicked off its first Odoo project with its first customer since becoming an Odoo Partner.
The project started on August 25, 2026, with a pharmaceutical manufacturing company and is based on Odoo Enterprise 19. The implementation combines Odoo’s standard Enterprise capabilities with custom functionality developed specifically around the customer’s business processes and requirements.

Going Beyond Standard Odoo Functionality
While Odoo provides extensive standard functionality, the customer also has specific processes that require additional customization.
For this project, BHSoft is developing four key enhancements tailored to those requirements.
1. Consolidating Purchase Orders from Multiple Manufacturing Orders
The system will automatically consolidate raw-material purchasing requirements from multiple Manufacturing Orders (MOs) into a single RFQ/Purchase Order for each supplier.
The functionality works with Odoo’s replenishment mechanisms, including Reordering Rules and Make-to-Stock (MTS).
This helps streamline purchasing requirements across multiple manufacturing orders.
2. Automatically Determining Warehouse Locations
BHSoft is configuring automated warehouse location assignment for materials received into inventory and products completed through manufacturing.
Using Putaway Rules, Multi-Locations, and Routes, the system will automatically direct:
- Raw materials
- Packaging materials
- Semi-finished products
- Finished products
to their designated warehouse locations.
This supports a more structured inventory flow and clearer product traceability.
3. Tracking R&D Progress Directly from CRM Opportunities
The project includes a customized connection between CRM Leads/Opportunities and R&D Project Tasks.
A Smart Button will allow users to access related R&D activities directly from the CRM interface, while the R&D status will be displayed within the Opportunity.
This gives users greater visibility into R&D progress as part of the customer management process.
4. Automatically Attaching Costing Templates to R&D Tasks
BHSoft is also implementing automation for R&D task creation. When an R&D Task is created, the system will automatically:
- Identify the corresponding project.
- Copy the relevant Costing Template into the project’s document folder.
- Attach the template directly to the R&D Task.
This reduces repetitive manual work and keeps the required costing documentation connected to the relevant R&D activity.
Combining Odoo with Customer-Specific Requirements
A key principle of this implementation is finding the right balance between standard Odoo functionality and customer-specific customization.
- Where Odoo Enterprise 19 already provides the required capabilities, the project uses standard configuration and workflows.
- Where the customer has specific operational requirements that are not fully covered by standard functionality, BHSoft develops targeted customizations to extend the platform.
This approach allows the implementation to follow a practical structure:
Standard Odoo Enterprise 19 ⟶ Business Process Configuration ⟶ Targeted Customization & Automation ⟶ A Solution Adapted to the Customer’s Operations
Rather than customizing everything, the focus is on using Odoo’s existing capabilities as the foundation and extending them where there is a clear business need.
