About the project

The web application was built to revolutionize how used vehicles are traded, sold, and managed. BHSOFT developed this system to serve as an intelligent, centralized automation platform that ensures seamless consignment operations from any desktop browser. Designed with multiple roles in mind, the system simplifies day-to-day workflows and provides tailored user experiences to operators, managers, and sales staff.

The web platform supports business critical functions such as price evaluation, survey requests, KPI tracking, and reporting, enabling full control over consignment processes through automation and role-based functionality.

The client required a modern, browser-accessible platform to replace outdated manual processes and disconnected systems. Their core needs included:

Role-based Access Control (RBAC) to segregate features by user responsibility and reduce clutter.
A scalable architecture that supports the rapid growth of data and user base.
Data-driven automation tools for valuation, approvals, and reporting.
A design that caters to both non-technical users (sales staff) and tech-savvy professionals (controllers, estimators).

The solution had to unify all departments under a single system, improving speed, accuracy, and traceability.

Developing a comprehensive web platform to automate the complexities of vehicle consignment presented several key challenges:

Complex workflows across roles: Integrating different operational needs (from estimation to approval) into one platform without overlap or confusion.
Handling high data volumes: Vehicle records, customer details, and transaction histories generated considerable backend load.
Ensuring user-friendliness across expertise levels: The UI had to feel intuitive for users ranging from entry-level staff to experienced sales managers.

Maintaining real-time responsiveness: As users interacted with multiple modules concurrently, delays could degrade productivity.

1. Advanced UI & Role-Specific Workspaces

We designed the frontend in NextJS with a modular architecture that dynamically loads role-specific dashboards. This ensured that each user saw only relevant data and tools, simplifying their workflows while maintaining system cohesion.

2. Backend Optimization for Automation & Scale

NodeJS was used to build scalable APIs. To boost performance, we integrated:

Lazy loading for large data tables and client records
Asynchronous processing for tasks like survey uploads and KPI updates
In-memory caching for high-traffic endpoints

3. Robust RBAC Implementation

Our RBAC model defined over a dozen user roles, each with custom access permissions, CRUD rights, and operational boundaries. This structure enabled strict data privacy, workflow clarity, and operational efficiency.

4. Seamless Consignment Automation Tools

Vehicle Valuation Module: Automatically pulled condition and history data to calculate real-time market value.
KPI Tracking Interface: Users and teams could monitor targets and adjust strategies accordingly.
Survey Request System: Automated task assignment and progress tracking for field inspections.
Approval Workflow: Built-in traceable logic for multi-step price offering and manager sign-off.
