About the project

As part of a broader digital transformation initiative, BHSOFT developed a mobile-first version of the Car Consignment Management System. The mobile application was created to empower field agents, sales personnel, and estimators with real-time access to business-critical tools wherever they are—be it on the lot, in the showroom, or at a client’s location.

The mobile app serves as an extension of the automation framework developed for the web platform. Built with Flutter, it offers seamless cross-platform performance and access to the same core modules: vehicle valuation, KPI monitoring, survey management, and role-specific workflows. It transforms the smartphone into a powerful business tool for car consignment professionals.

The client needed a mobile solution that not only mimicked the web application’s capabilities but also introduced native advantages—instant accessibility, real-time updates, and offline handling where needed. Core requirements included:

Custom interfaces per user role to avoid clutter and improve focus.
Real-time sync with backend operations to ensure decisions made in the field are always up to date.
Secure access to sensitive customer and transaction data, compliant with privacy protocols.

Tools to automate appointments, valuations, and field survey submissions directly from mobile devices.

Developing the mobile app posed unique technical and UX challenges:

Complex Workflows in a Small Interface: Adapting robust web features into mobile while keeping the experience simple and fluid.
Consistent Data Syncing: Field operations required immediate syncing with the backend to maintain data integrity across platforms.
Performance on Varying Devices: Ensuring smooth operation on different screen sizes and OS versions.

Usability Under Pressure: Field agents needed to act quickly—slow or complex interfaces could disrupt client engagements.

Mobile-Optimized UI Design

Using Flutter, we crafted mobile-optimized components with responsive layouts, swipe-friendly navigation, and offline-first capabilities. Interfaces were simplified using icon-driven logic and collapsible sections to minimize information overload.

Real-Time Data Automation & Syncing

Backend APIs handled mobile-specific queries with asynchronous responses. Key features included:

Auto-updated KPI Dashboards that reflect performance on the go.
Instant Vehicle Valuation through mobile-enabled input forms linked to the central valuation engine.
Push Notifications for task reminders, approvals, and scheduling.

Role-Driven Experience Segmentation

Each role—salesperson, estimator, controller—was provided with a dedicated app view. Permissions and features dynamically changed based on login credentials. This prevented misuse and created highly focused workspaces.

Security and Offline Handling

The app encrypted local data using device-level storage policies and supported offline data entry for field surveys, syncing them upon reconnecting.
